I’m so pleased some of my recent illustration work created during the Awakening: Earth-Based Spirituality and Art Residency this past summer. During my time there, I was so inspired by the beautiful, wonderful women in attendance, that my project became focused on capturing their portraits with elements of their pagan spiritualism included. This series of small watercolor portraits was inspired by the women who attended the 2018 Awakening: Earth-Based Art and Spirituality Residency, aka. witch camp. These portraits include the element the women identify with, as well as other symbols of their pagan craft or practice. Each piece was painted with water sourced from Lake Ontario and charged in moonlight and the power of clear quartz crystals. The process of painting the pieces was ritualized through intention setting, mediation, and crystal energies.

The show will run from October 22 through October 29, with an opening launch party on the October 24 Full Moon.

Co-curated by Monica Bodirsky and Stephanie Dayes.
