Zerbe Wins Best In Show with glass sculpture "All The Things I Wish You Would Have Said"

I am both honored and elated to have been selected Best In Show for the “In the Abstract” exhibition at the San Fernando Valley Arts and Culture Center. The exhibition, which runs from June 1 to June 30 is a virtual exhibit of 2D and 3D abstract art. Abstract art uses shapes, forms, color, lines, and texture as opposed to representing an accurate depiction of visual reality. Abstract art challenges artists to explore new ways of seeing and expressing themselves.

The works were juried by Dale Youngman, an entrepreneur involved in many aspects of the art world—all to facilitate the flow of art between artists and discerning buyers. As a Curator and former Gallery Director, she has nearly twenty years of experience curating over 80 professional exhibitions at multiple galleries, independent projects, and charity events.

The virtual reception and artist talk is scheduled for June 15 at 5pm PST (8pm EST) and open to the public. I will be discussing the process of making of my piece “All The Things I Wish You Would Have Said”, the inspiration behind it, and how finding this new medium saved my life after a toxic relationship. Please join me if you can!
